\ From founder sketch to working system
United States
Burger Service
A founder's early idea became a production-ready identity built for the grill, the street, the screen, and every experiment after.

\ The handoff
Michael came in with a design he wanted to print on shirts. The direction was already there. The opportunity was to preserve his instinct while rebuilding it into assets that could perform in production and carry a real business.
Professionalize the idea without designing the founder out of it.
The work was not a dramatic reinvention. It was disciplined refinement: stronger construction, cleaner hierarchy, flexible signatures, and production files built for apparel, signage, menus, merchandise, social profiles, and the website.
01
Protect the instinct
Keep the founder's postal-service idea and the energy that made it worth building.
02
Build real assets
Redraw the mark, resolve the typography, and prepare files that printers and developers can trust.
03
Create range
Give every surface the right signature without making the identity feel different each time.
3+ years
Founder partnership
Black Bambu supported USBS from its early 2018 launch period through identity, apparel, print, and website work completed through 2021.
3 formats
Core logo family
Avatar and compact marks, a circular service seal, and a long horizontal signature gave the brand production-ready range.
Sold out
Merchandise releases
Founder-reported result covering shirts and later merchandise; sales records or a direct client quote would strengthen this proof.
\ Logo family
One identity. The right shape for every job.

The family moved from social avatar and square applications to a circular service seal and a long signature designed for the website, headers, and narrow production spaces.
\ Uniform as brand
Built to work behind a hot grill.
The first shirts used custom Bella + Canvas garments selected to match the blue identity and perform through service. Later tanks turned the uniform into merchandise without losing its working purpose.

\ The next drop
The system made room for Mikey to play.
As Michael explored hats, phone cases, and even custom Nikes, Black Bambu stayed close for the pieces that needed a professional production hand: tank tops, magnets, stickers, and campaign art. The founder reports that every merchandise release sold out.

\ Digital foundation
Search brought people in. Mikey made them care.
The website gave USBS a searchable home for its story, menu, location, merchandise, and scratch-made point of view. The design kept the product and founder energy ahead of agency polish.

The live site credits Black Bambu and documents the concept's late-2018 start, scratch-made food, rotating specials, team, and merchandise program.

\ Language system
The menu delivered the joke.
Ground. 2-Day. Snail Mail. Carrier Pigeon. Insurance. Tariffs. Postal language gave the menu memory and let monthly specials stay inventive inside a recognizable system.
\ Long relationship
The identity kept evolving because the partnership left room for the founder to lead.
Black Bambu worked alongside Michael from the brand's early years through 2021, supporting the projects that needed a professional hand and later collaborating on another concept, Guerito's. The strongest proof is not a frozen brand guide. It is a system the founder could keep making his own.
